Allcraft is a manufacturer of Custom Printed Pressure Sensitive Labels in rolls or sheet form in Toronto Canada . These labels can be produced on a variety of papers, foils, vinyl's and mylars, using various adhesives, depending upon the end application. Allcraft, in business for 40 years, also provides flexographic printing plates to other printers.

Plate developer solvent is used in the flexographic plate process to dissolve the photopolymer on the non image area of the plate, leaving the image area elevated.

We were purchasing 512 litres of solvent per month at a cost of approximately $ 3,000 including waste removal. We spend time tracking our solvent purchases and completing a manifest for each drum of solvent shipped off-site.

We purchased a Uni-ram solvent recycler, the BB30N, through Canadian Recycling Company, a distributor of Uni-ram Corporation. We run the recycler twice a day. The solvent recycler is easy to use. Dirty solvent is pumped into the recycler, clean recycled solvent is pumped out of the recycler to the reservoir of the plate developer. The recycled solvent works very well, as good as the virgin solvent. The solvent recycler paid for itself in 6 months. We don’t have to fill out the manifest. We don’t have drums of solvent sitting in our shop waiting for the environmental company to pick up.
